We’re Proud of How Far Mounika Has Come

Mounika at CSS

When Mounika was a young child, she lost both of her parents and was placed in an orphanage in India. In 2017, that orphanage was closed by the government, leaving Mounika once again facing uncertainty about her future. During the process of relocating the children, the Women and Child Welfare Committee assigned her to the Centre for Social Service (CSS) in Hyderabad, one of C2C’s partner organizations.

At CSS, Mounika found a safe home and the opportunity to continue her education. She enrolled in 2nd grade at CSS NAM Girls High School and quickly adapted to her new environment. Despite the challenges she had experienced at such a young age, she became an engaged student and active participant in school life.

For orphaned and vulnerable children like Mounika, educational success is often far from guaranteed. Frequent disruptions, financial hardship, trauma, and a lack of family support can make it difficult for children to remain in school and reach their full potential. Creating an environment where girls can learn, grow, and envision a future for themselves requires much more than paying school fees.

That is why C2C's focuses on the whole child. Alongside her academic studies, Mounika participated in activities including music, dance, athletics, and self-defense. She attended C2C classes in spoken English, Computer Science, robotics, Vedic math and life skills. These experiences help girls build confidence, resilience, leadership skills, and a sense of belonging that keeps them engaged in school, successful in classwork and motivated to pursue their goals.

Today, we are proud to share that Mounika has successfully completed her 10th Standard examinations, scoring 570 out of 600 marks and earning the top rank at CSS NAM Girls High School.

Mounika hopes to continue her studies in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry and ultimately fulfill her dream of becoming a doctor. Her achievement reflects years of hard work, perseverance, and determination.

We are incredibly proud of Mounika and grateful to the supporters who make stories like hers possible.
