C2C Fellow, Mythree
At just 21 years old, Mythree has already accomplished a great deal. She has graduated from college, started a career, and is continuing her education as she works toward her Bachelor in Education degree (B. Ed.)
But the circumstances she came from make those accomplishments even more remarkable.
Mythree grew up in a family living in severe financial hardship. When she lost her mother in eighth grade due to an illness, the challenges became even greater. Her father, a security guard earning less than ₹5,000 a month, was supporting four children.
For a family living on so little, continuing a girl child’s education beyond secondary school can be an enormous challenge. For Mythree, the question was not simply what she wanted to do with her future, but whether she would have the opportunity to continue building one.
C2C began supporting Mythree while she was still in high school, working with our partner in Hyderabad to help her stay on track with her education and prepare for what would come next. Through C2C-supported Career Guidance and Spoken English programs, she developed confidence, strengthened her communication skills, and began thinking more intentionally about her future.
After completing high school, Mythree received a C2C Fellowship, which provided financial support for her post-secondary education expenses and enabled her to complete her Bachelor in Commerce, her first college degree.
For C2C, this is an important part of the journey: helping girls access education, and then providing the support and resources they need to continue moving forward.
But education is only part of the story.
For Mythree, the confidence and skills she developed along the way helped her take the next step.
Today, she is working as an Assistant Headmistress at a girls’ high school in Hyderabad while completing her B. Ed.
In many ways, Mythree has come full circle. The community that helped her continue her education is now where she is helping educate the next generation.

Her influence extends beyond the classroom as well. Mythree encourages her younger students to stay in school, build their confidence, and believe in their futures. She is passing along some of the same encouragement that helped shape her own path.
This is another part of what C2C hopes to make possible: girls who have the confidence and agency to shape their own futures, and who, in turn, strengthen their families and communities.
Looking ahead, Mythree hopes to become a lecturer and inspire even more students through education.

Mythree’s story illustrates the journey we hope to support for more girls: access to education, opportunities to build skills and confidence, and the agency to pursue a future of their own choosing.
She started as a girl growing up in severe poverty who needed help staying in school. Today, she is a college graduate, an educator, and a young woman continuing to build her own future.
And her journey is just beginning.
