We’re trying to level the
playing field for C2C girls, so
that when they graduate, they
have the same opportunity
set available to them as other
children, whether in India or
elsewhere in the world, and
regardless of class or status.
This approach is about
recognizing that a girl is valid,
that no matter where she’s
from, her dreams are valid.
— Sumana Shetty
We’re solving for the next generation of talent and building sustainability skills. A lot of NGOs just focus on making sure a girl goes to school and graduates. That’s important, but to us, we say: “okay, what’s next?” How can we make our girls part of the solution, and help to close the skills gap facing employers in South Asia? The “what’s next” is what creates the ripple effect from educating a girl.

LETTER FROM OUR CO-FOUNDERS

Dear Friends,

As we look back on 2024, we’re feeling incredibly grateful and full of hope. This year has shown us

just how powerful education can be and how strong the girls we work with are.

To fully understand the impact of what we do, you kind of have to see it for yourself. In every

classroom, community, and young mind we reach, there’s something amazing happening: a spark

of hope, all thanks to the opportunities we’re able to provide.

We’re lucky to witness this firsthand during our annual visits to our C2C partners, and we hope this

report gives you a small window into the incredible change you’ve helped make possible.

One of our proudest moments this year was doubling the number of girls we serve. It's a milestone

we hope to hit again next year! This growth is all about hands-on STEM training and building

leadership skills that empower these girls to take on the future with confidence.

At the heart of everything we do is our belief in creating real, lasting change. Through our work,

we’re advancing key UN Sustainable Development Goals—like gender equality, quality education,

the end of poverty, decent work, economic growth, reduced inequalities, and climate action. By

focusing on micro-communities, we’re igniting a ripple effect of progress that extends far beyond

what we see. It’s in these small victories that we find hope—not just for the girls, but for all of us.

We couldn’t do this work without you. Thank you for being a part of this journey and helping us

create lasting change, one girl, one community, and one future at a time.

With gratitude and hope for the future,

Sumana Shetty and Sejal Gehani

A LOOK BACK AT C2C GRADUATES

As part of our ongoing commitment to long-term impact, we gathered data from C2C girls who graduated from our partner centers in 2020-2021, 2021-2022, and 2022-2023. The cohort included more than 550 girls across three larger partners where we work. The findings show exciting trends in education, career pathways, and social progress with the implementation of C2C services:

  • Increased Student Readiness for Board Exams – More students are appearing for exams each year, especially in 10th and 12th standards.

  • Shifting Academic Interests – Commerce and Arts have become more popular, with a notable rise in Science (Non-Medicine) enrollment at some centers.

  • Stronger Educational Commitment – Discontinuation rates have decreased significantly, reflecting more student support and a more stable learning environment.

  • Social Progress – Early child marriage rates have dropped, demonstrating the importance of education for young women.
